One Day Tour
Downton Abbey
Key Information
The much-anticipated movie Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale was released in 2025. Let us take you to some of the locations used in this globally popular series.
Here are some of the places you can see on our very exciting one-day Downton Abbey Tour. When the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon open the doors of Highclere Castle, we are able to include this magnificent estate in our Downton Abbey themed tour.
Spend either the morning or afternoon in Highclere Castle. Have lunch in the picturesque Cotswolds country inn where Lady Sybil and the family chauffeur, Branson, spent the night during their elopement in the most controversial story-line in Season two of Downton Abbey. Have your photograph taken on the ‘Downton’ Village Green and visit the Church where Lady Mary and Matthew Crawley were married. Downton Hospital is also there in a different guise.
When Highclere Castle is closed to the public we can take you to Grantham House which is the Crawleys’ London residence. You will drive-by the exterior of the London property that was used en route to the magnificent Georgian mansion set in the heart of Royal Berkshire where all the interior scenes were filmed. You can visit the impressive rooms and stroll through the grounds where Shirley MacLaine, who is wonderful as Martha Levinson, hosted the Hyde Park picnic.

Testimonials
"From start to finish, our trip to England and Scotland was perfection! British Heritage Chauffeur Tours took care of every major and minor detail. My husband and I had nothing to do but enjoy ourselves. This was our first trip with John and BHC Tours, but it will NOT be our last."

"I cannot say enough good things about Ian - what a knowledgeable person about so many things...and pleasant! At each location Ian added 'tidbits' to the history of the places we visited. You have a gem in that man - polished, profound in his historical knowledge, and a true gentleman."

"I wanted to thank you for the wonderful tour you arranged for us. All the arrangements and accommodations were first class. Our favorite hotel was The Peacock. We had such a great time that we were ready to come back the day that we flew to the US. Accolades to Graham as well. He was very patient with us, answering our multitude of questions! We enjoyed visiting with him."
