The largest man-made lake in Europe, Rutland Water, is surrounded by attractive villages, set in the wonderful English countryside with picture postcard cottages and traditional country inns. Breathtaking scenery, stately homes, castles and beautiful gardens are the backdrop to the wonderful choices of fine-food inns and hotels.

This area is also steeped in medieval history with such famous examples as Belvoir Castle which is still the family home of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland; Burghley House being one of the largest and grandest houses of the Elizabethan age; Rockingham Castle built by William the Conqueror and a Royal residence for 450 yrs, and arguably the finest gothic building in Europe, Lincoln Cathedral are all within a short scenic drive from your overnight stay at the stunning Hambleton Hall.
